The Smalls Presents The Can, November 2007 in New York City
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- Following a successful year that has included the second annual Smalls Awards and The Comedy Smalls, The Smalls is now launching the "The Can" (http://www.thesmalls.com/thecan) - a new monthly showcase for short films from around the world, geared towards recharging the creative batteries of New York's creative community.
We all need a boost every now and then to get inspired and a fresh perspective. For filmmakers, this is the place where they can show their films to a live audience of professionals.
The Smalls is a curator of independent short film (http://www.thesmalls.com/Films.go), dedicated to the discovery, and promotion of new film-making talent through www.thesmalls.com as well as through competitions and events. It is the objective of The Smalls to create opportunities for its members to have their films seen by a wide audience and by commissioners of content.
Previous competitions like The Comedy Smalls has put the winners in the same room with execs from Paramount Comedy.
The Smalls has established itself as one of the top short film sites on the internet, bringing talent and opportunity together.
The Can strives to achieve a similar bridge between creatives and executives.
The Can will give filmmakers an opportunity to meet people from the tv and advertising industry, or maybe a collaborator for their next film.
The launch night will be:
Tuesday, November 27, 7:00PM
@
White Rabbit
145 East Houston St.
New York, NY 10002
And starting in January 2008, we'll have a new batch of films to show every month. Anyone interested in showing their films at The Can, please contact TheCan @ TheSmalls.com or visit TheSmalls.com (http://www.thesmalls.com)
But for now, come join us in November, check out the films and meet the organizers of The Smalls, and the sponsors of The Can - creative agencies devilfish and Angry Ant Media.
Get here, be inspired.
